We've Moved...Campsites

Yesterday morning we got up and took a walk and realized that although we had a great campsite, there were better spots.

So, more for our memory, than your viewing pleasure, here we go...

These two spots are meant for groups, side by side.  Sites 67 &68.

This is site # 66, was really nice but I think the pad was too small for the bus.

This is site #64 (voted one of the top 10 sites in the park) it's at the end of the point and looked to be a good one.

Site # 61, another top 10 site.

This is the fishing pier.

But this is the one we chose, # 53, also one of the top 10 sites.

And for good reason!  It's beautiful...

It has a pathway down to our own beach!

All set up, again.

Bloody Mary anyone???

At the beach...

Perfect!

Cheers!

What a beautiful day!

And how about that sunset!

Calhoun Falls State Park, South Carolina

So, we are on the road again!  No, we are not going to the Bat Cave... Pretty cool though!

We are headed to Calhoun Falls State Park in South Carolina, beautiful views along the way.

Now, I'm no expert on campgrounds, but this place is beautiful!  Our camp site has an access right down to the lake.

Picnic table, fire ring, lantern hook and even a fish cleaning table...

Nice, huh?!  We are here until Thursday, so more pics to come!

Birdhouse/Mailbox Progress

Coming along nicely!

With Stu standing next to it, you can get an idea of how big this thing is, and most of the wood is oak and walnut, etc (not to mention the sub-structure)...  Needless to say, it isn't going to blow away.  Not sure how we are going to get it to the top of driveway... We may have to have a mailbox raising party!

Keeping Busy...

Ok, so those of you that know Stu, know he's a hard man to keep down...  even on our mini-vacation!

I just had to get proof...he keeps telling me he can relax...uh huh!

Us too!

So, on to Stu's new project, using this crazy birdhouse as inspiration...

And turning it into our new mailbox!

Our friend Jerry gave us a big pile of old barn boards, beautiful stuff!

It's looking great so far...Stay tuned!

Camping...

We decided to take a few days "off" and go camping.  The way it works at the house, neither one of us can sit still long enough to relax, so...  here we are!

Smoky Bear Campground just outside Gatlinburg (about 30 minutes from home).

All set up!

The owner is Korean, Chong O'Leary (I love it).  Her and her husband have been great hosts, we'll be coming back for sure.

Now that's what I'm talking about!  Finally a little R & R!

I Know, I Know....

I know it's been a long time!  I'd like to say we've been slacking since we got back from Seattle...But no!

One last picture from Seattle...  Our last day there, Ty took us to do some crabbing!  Awesome and soooo yummy!

We got back to the house late on Friday and found we'd been "hillbillied"!
This was glowing in the window as we came down the driveway, we knew something was up...

That right folks...it's a "sploded" tire!  No self respecting hillbilly would be caught without one somewhere around the house/trailer!

And of course LOTS of spinney things!

About a week or so ago, we were invaded, briefly.  A flock of cow birds came through and it was amazing!

The pictures will never do justice to the amount of birds we had in the yard!

They were everywhere!  Then as quickly as they came they were gone...

We've been working on the "apartment" for the past couple of days.

We finished the floor boards/trim.

The ceiling fan is up and the closet door in.  Looks great!

We still have a few things to finish up, (like the bathroom) but it's really coming together!

Stu did a great job on the floor, he put the last coat on when we got back from Seattle.

So, one more week and we can start moving furniture in, how exciting!
