Myrtle Beach And More...

We spent last weekend in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.  We were helping a friend move, so it wasn't all play, but we did get in some "sightseeing" too.

The boardwalk and mandatory Ferris wheel.

Off to Pier 14 for drinks and munchies!  Seafood, finally!

Happy clams!

Fat Man's Dream Dogs and Cream!  I love it!

Another stop for some yummy crab soup!

Here we are all tucked into the Lakewood Camping Resort.

I wasn't kidding when I said "tucked"!  We were packed in like sardines!

On a good note, the beach was just at the end of our road.

Campers as far as the eye can see...

Back at the homestead...  Our garden looks great, we've already gotten some cucumbers and the tomatoes aren't far behind!

Right before we left we saw this guy right next to the house, a pileated woodpecker.

Wow...June Already!

I can't believe it's June already!  This year is really flying by!

There she goes....We sold our Infiniti a couple of weeks ago, finally we have a little more room in our garage, now we are down to only 4 cars...crazy!

On the road again!  We headed out yesterday for Paris Mountain State Park in Greenville, SC.  It's about 2 hours from home.  Ahhhh, we are AWAY!

The weather is beautiful and the campground is really nice.

Our friends Jerry and Sylvia are just down the road a couple of sites away.

And there we are, trying to get into relax mode...

I think it might be working...

May...

Our good friends Jerry and Sylvia are letting us use this great garden, and we are taking advantage!  Stu is walking between two rows of tomatoes, we also have some onions, beans, hot peppers, corn and soon...fennel.  That should keep us busy for the Summer!

A few shots around the yard.  We've been doing a lot of landscaping...Tis the season!

My little herb garden is doing well.

We got these two watering troughs and two wash basins at an antique shop dirt cheap, perfect for a little close to home garden.  Tomatoes on the left and eggplant on the right.

Just barely coming up...arugula on the left and dill on the right.

Here I've got peppers starting and my mint, lemon balm and a couple of mums that survived the winter.

Before we left for South Carolina last month we started to build this rock wall.

And yesterday we did this section, I'd like to say we are done, but I think the best I can say is that we have more done, that we have to do!

It looks pretty good already, but wait until we get done... I know I can't wait!

Stu's lawn still looks great, we are keeping our fingers crossed that this one will last through the Summer.

We started working on the apartment above the garage.  It's exciting to see some progress being made, finally!

This will be the kitchen.

Across from that will be the living room and "office" tucked in the dormer.

The back half will be the bedroom with the walk-in closet on the left.

The bathroom.

Looking toward the kitchen and living room.

Can't wait to get it finished! And the projects continue...
