Rock Creek Campground

We just got back from a few days at the Rock Creek Campground in Erwin, TN with our friend Jerry Ford.  We had a double site with electric only.  The set-up was a little crazy, I though for a double site, but it was still nice.  We got there Thursday afternoon, and had rain in the evening.

Friday morning and afternoon were beautiful!  We took a ride up to Roan Mountain State Park to see the azalea gardens.

The drive up was amazing!

A picture just doesn't do this justice...

The azalea gardens are at 6,286 feet and have a paved trail winding through the azaleas.

The mountain was covered with Catawba Rhododendrons, among other things...

We missed the peak bloom by about a week or so, but they were still beautiful!

I can't imagine what it looked like last week, must have been amazing!

Again, the views were amazing!

As you can imagine, it was much cooler up there, and since none of us were dressed for that, we didn't hang around too long.

Me and Jerry enjoying the view.

And, we just beat a rain storm not long after getting back on the road.

This is Rock Creek right next to the campground.
