Last week Matt, Laurie and Logan came to visit for a long (but way too short) weekend.
Logan posing for his Christmas photo pic accompanied by his support props. How can Santa overlook this little cutie!
As normal, Logan was all smiles at breakfast.
Grandpa's best side in the morning.....obviously grumpa looked very funny.
Logan always looking on the bright side in anticipation of another tractor ride.
Time to share his ipod freshly loaded with his recorded new songs....with the help of some footnotes.
Logan checking on the vitals prior to operating the tractor.
Grandpa and Logan returning from touring the neighborhood after searching for bears, turkeys and a few squirrels.
Logan supervising dad when parking the tractor........always the consummate driving instructor.
Logan explaining the art of good horsemanship to grandpa and his good friend Gerald.
Nothing like being back in the saddle again on a nice fall sunny day.
I now Christen thee ham and burger....see you later.
Logan changing the day's itinerary with a game of golf.
I found the grooming brush, anyone seen my horse?
Although the lights in the great room were dimmed a bit it definitely wasn't quiet time for Logan....his batteries were charged and he was in constant motion.
Sitting on the fireplace hearth with his two wooden buddies, Frik and Frak.
Logan requesting a little quiet from his mom as he tried to compose a new melody on his new electronic synthesizer...
Logan wearing the head phones during the playback of another recorded concerto.
Logan meets grandpa for another 'early' morning breakfast setting.
Grandpa's getting better at serving the breakfast on queue.
Theresa's snake trap is still working hard into it's second fall season....so far no copperheads and only this friendly black racer.
Matt with a pair of scissors and a lucky-to-be-alive snake that he just released.
Logan with grandpa and dad doing some recon for the turkeys.
Ooooh, big bouncy pumpkin tent! Let's go in.
Logan inside the pumpkin tent working on his hops.
Taking a break.
I can't believe I have all of this corn to shovel and all I've got is this little dozer.
Logan preparing for a face-plant in the corn.
Another camera angle with further action of the face-plant.
The face-plant was a little more ouwie than expected.....moving onto performing a corn angel instead.
Dad and Logan arriving!
Grandpa attempting his first catch as Logan exits the slide.....nice try but NO talent.
Logan and mom with too many big pumpkins to chose from....also notice the location of the thumb, some one's getting tired.
Nice Halloween arrangement but a little too big for the front porch.
Logan and dad taking a break.
Logan showing off his choice of pumpkins to grandpa.
It's a beauty, I'll take this pumpkin! Good color and shape, what's not to like?
A final walk review just to ensure the best pumpkin is in hand.
Two pumpkins are always better than one.
Now all that's left is to wear a Halloween costume and fill my bag with candy when I return home.
Dad shooting at one of trees in the backyard......didn't have the heart to tell him that the tree was already dead.
Not quite the same as passing on the baton but it's still another way for father and son to bond.
Time for a break from all of the shooting action and get re-energized with a few gummy drops.
Ahhh, this is the life!
Probably should have had one less gummy drop.....just a wee bit over energized.
Logan's first attempt on mounting his rocking bear....not a problem.
Dad and Logan just happened to discover this tank abandoned alongside the road....can I keep it!
Logan returning his dad's salute....unfortunately Logan was not granted permission to depart with his new discovery.
Dad and Logan enjoying grandpa's new front yard.....nice green grass.
More pumpkins and a bail of straw on the front porch....this is great!
First prize!
This looks like a good spot.
Grandpa and Logan trowelling new cement in preparation to add hand prints with names and dates.
Just a few more finishing touches needed.....and a little drying time.
Logan applying the first hand print test to the new cement.
Dad applying a little more gravity to the situation.
Success! Now for the supporting cast to add a few more hand prints.
A little more instruction from Logan to illustrate how this is done.
Maybe a little to much wrist.
Mom adding a little more gentle touches needed for the perfect hand print.
And a masterpiece is achieved!
Laurie's turn.
All that's left is a couple of days to dry and a stepping stone to the apartment stairs is done.
Matt attempting to sneak up on the turkeys in the front yard. Disclaimer: No one was injured during this event.
Mom and Logan just happened to find a grassy slope in route while walking to the restaurant for dinner..there's never a reason to stop having fun!
Unfortunately rolling sideways on a slope is hard work.
Maybe a bit of tumbling is easier.
What the heck....let's just run down the slope and let gravity do all of the work.
OK, I pushed the crosswalk button, now what!
