Fall has definitely arrived! We have already had frost advisories! It's too early! Oh well...
I realize I haven't put any pictures on in a really long time, this was just over three weeks ago. Stu completely redid the entire yard (front, back, side and across the driveway). This is just after seeding and scattering straw.
Here too, this is on the other side of the driveway, seeded and strawed...
This is one of our newest birds, we think it's a nuthatch.
Kind of hard to see, but he sure is a cutie!
The roses are still going strong.
Stu has been working on this area for the past week or so. Pulling out some of the bigger rocks and making a wall on the left side.
Here comes Stu with a load of dirt.
And this is our newest visitor, cardinals! They haven't made their way to the feeders yet, but it's only a matter of time!
This past weekend we went to Sevierville to a Volkswagen show.
We were looking for information, ideas, resources, etc... for when we start to restore our 1974 Karmann Ghia.
I don't know much about cars, but I'm pretty sure that's not original!
A man's VW bus is his....castle???
This was my favorite! Stu has already shot down my idea of painting ours this color...
Ok, back to the yard... We had planted some lavender along the walkway up to the house, but it really didn't to well here, between the brutal summer we had and the crappy soil, it's no wonder. So we put in some nandinas, not my favorite, but I'm sure they will grow on me...no pun intended!
We are all decked out for Fall!
Stu put the lavenders we ripped out over across the driveway, we'll see how they do there.
Ahhhh, finally....Grass!
We cleaned up this area a couple of weeks ago and finally gave a couple of plants that spent the summer in pots sitting in the driveway a home!
Backyard...more grass!
And this is 3 weeks (on Sunday) worth of growth for the front yard.
My celery, what's left of it, is still being chomped on too...
