What a great day! Slight change in plans, and everything worked out great... We decided to stay in Bologna for another day, the hotel is great! So we went to Pisa just for the day and came back to the hotel, will go to Florence in the morning and go on to San Gimignano from there...
Here we go!

We bought our ticket to the top of the the tower, but we had to wait an hour and a half for our "appointment" time...
So we stopped off for a little snack
There we are hiding in the shade waiting for our turn to go to the top of the tower
This is from the top, just a quick tip....it's not a good idea to sit and have a nice leisurely snack with 2 glasses of wine before you climb 300 stairs...especially if you aren't crazy about heights!
It is a bell tower after all...
It's amazing how clear the air is (especially once you get out of Naples!), the views were fantastic!
This place is a tourist Mecca...the road is nothing but vendors
I wasn't the only one a little having trouble... there were lots of people "crawling" around the railings!
When we sat to have some water after we came down... we were surprised to see it at this angle, WOW...we actually went up in that!!
There are lots of ways to see the city...by horse and carriage,
this cute little open trolley, or the sightseeing bus behind
And Italy is supposed to be the fashion capitol of the World??
And of course mandatory "holding up the tower" shots...
